We aim to be transparent with our clients in respect of our legal costs and the legal fees we charge. We appreciate that people want to shop around for the most competitive legal fees. The overriding factor, in our clients’ experience, is the importance of service and quality of the legal advice. While great service may cost a little more, it’s certainly worth the investment if you want the best result possible.
There are a range of funding options available for our clients, including legal aid or public funding where appropriate. We are happy to discuss the funding of our legal advice to find the most affordable solution available for you.
Legal Aid Solicitors – Legal costs as Legal Aid Lawyers
Our firm has been specially approved by the Legal Services Commission to provide a quality service to you in family law and criminal law. Whether you are eligible for legal aid or a public funding contribution to your legal fees will depend on your financial eligibility. The merits of your case will be considered together with your income, savings and any other assets you may have to finance your legal costs. In some cases, we can organise emergency legal representation. If you are eligible for legal aid, our fees will be paid for by public funding.
Legal fees – legal costs calculation
The calculation of your legal costs includes our legal fees (which are subject to VAT) and disbursements. Our legal fees cover any work carried out on your behalf for providing you with legal advice. Disbursements are items which we have to pay for on your behalf as part of the process of providing you with legal advice, such as the fees of barristers and experts (if instructed).
